student work!
It’s fun for me to look back on this work. Certain pieces have something really special, and others scream art school (anatomical hearts, gratuitous nudity, etc).
There is some baby printmaking. My first print was made at HB Beal SS in 2011: a lithograph of hands reaching behind a nude back… I think the stone filled in. I don’t have any photos of it.
A technique I used to use a lot in my early work with coloured pencil was limiting myself to only red, yellow, and blue (ryb) and occasionally white (rybw) if I was working on coloured paper. The resulting highly realistic artworks were so popular with my friends, family, and fellow students that when I started leaning into printmaking, everyone was a little disappointed.
